Mindo is located 1 hour and 45 minutes from the city of Quito. To get there from Quito, take the road toward Mitad del Mundo and then continue on the Mitad del Mundo – Río Blanco route (E28), which links Pichincha province with Esmeraldas. Along the way you will pass the towns of Calacalí and Nanegalito, which serve as landmarks until you reach kilometer 76. At this point, on the left side, is the Y of Mindo, where the road to the town of Mindo begins.
From Mindo to El Carmelo it is 700 meters along the road to El Cinto.
To reach Mindo from the Ecuadorian coast, we recommend getting to the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. From there, take the Las Mercedes – Los Bancos road (E25) to San Miguel de Los Bancos. From there, take the road toward Quito until you reach the Y of Mindo, on the right side. The distance between these two towns is 24 km.
